A well house or a pump house is a small structure or shelter built over a water well. Its primary role is to protect the mechanical components, including the pump and pipes, from weather elements such as wind, rain, and snow, extending the life of a well system. It also provides access to the well equipment and components. It may house additional equipment such as pressure tanks and filtration systems.
In areas with freezing temperatures, a heating source may be required. Freezing can lead to pipes bursting and the pump getting damaged. Heating also reduces condensation buildup which can help prevent corrosion and equipment failure.
